Welcome to Season 2 Episode 21, where we cover Chapters 19-22 of The Dream Thieves! The Gangsey make an illegal trip to Ronan’s childhood home to get rid of yet another body. Ronan apparently dislikes light fixtures and psychics but loves his baby brother. Shannon connects the origins of some Sleeping Beauty stories to our good pal Geoffrey of Monmouth and reveals that she has a list of people she would bury a body for. Nievita admits to her childhood career aspirations and favorite Disney villainess, and we debate whether the term “Cat Room” refers to real cats or cat-shaped figurines. Episode Summary: Welcome to Episode 2! We cover chapters 4-8 of The Raven Boys, with a Deep Dive on Geoffrey of Monmouth. Nievita reveals her favorite Easter egg of TRC and exhibits her ignorance of the imports/exports of Virginia, much to Shannon’s amusement. We question whether ghosts have pockets, and how this could possibly be the first meeting of the Gangsey. There may or may not be some tears when talking about the Lynch brothers. ** ** Subscribe at: or wherever you get your podcasts, and please comment, rate, or review! ** ** \- - - - - ** ** Next Episodes: 11/2/17-- Ravin' Girls Episode 3, covering chaps. 9-11 of TRB and don’t forget to look for our first SPECIAL EPISODE RELEASE-- a Spoiler-Free Review of Maggie’s new book, All The Crooked Saints! ** ** Follow Us: Twitter: Tumblr: Facebook: WordPress: ** ** \- - - - - ** ** Links to Articles, Websites, and Other Discussions: * Barrington Whelk's namesake: * Wikipedia Article on Historia Regum Britanniae, written in 1136: * The Dragon and The Unicorn by A.A. A little description of this project, and what it's about. We’re Shannon and Nievita, and we’re the Ravin’ Girls! This is our Raven Cycle podcast, where we discuss and analyze Maggie Stiefvater’s Raven Cycle books. We discuss the Raven Cycle as a cycle, taking a look at the connections and foreshadowing running throughout the series. We analyze and discuss the themes of the books. We talk character arcs as we follow the development of these wonderfully complex characters. We also often take a ‘deep dive’ into a specific topic relevant to the chapters we’re covering in that episode. Episodes will be posted twice monthly, with each episode focusing on approximately 3-5 chapters of material. Come join us as we follow the adventures of four dysfunctional teenagers and their dead Welsh boyfriend! ----- The Raven Cycle and all affiliated properties (The Raven Boys, The Dream Thieves, Blue Lily, Lily Blue and The Raven King) are copyright Maggie Stiefvater and Scholastic Inc.
